In 1906, Don Francisco Rivas established a modest boot shop on the corner of Cuenca and Mideros Street in Quito, Ecuador. It was here that the first boots bearing the La Mundial name were crafted, marking the humble beginnings of what would become a renowned brand.

1935

In 1935, Don Francisco’s son, Roberto Rivas, joined the business, inheriting and preserving the cherished trade secrets passed down from his father.

1968

By 1968, Roberto’s daughter, Sonia Rivas, entered the family business, breaking barriers as one of the pioneering women in Ecuador’s shoe manufacturing industry.

1992

In 1992 , Roberto Rivas II took the reins, upholding the tradition of meticulously handcrafting made-to-order footwear, a principle embodied in the company’s enduring motto.

Present

Today, with over a century of history behind it, La Mundial has proudly served over a million customers with its commitment to superior quality

and craftsmanship. The legacy lives on in the capable hands of the fifth generation of the Rivas family, with Isabel and Alejandra at the helm, ensuring that La Mundial continues to be synonymous with excellence and heritage.
